Dress Rehearsal Instructions
Every dancer is required to be at their dress rehearsal. If you are not at the rehearsal, you cannot be in the show. The ballet school phone is always available: 760-525-6738
  • 1. Little dancers:   Wear your costume to the Theater.
  • 2.  Sit with the other members of your dance in the audience seating area.
  • 3.  Be patient while everyone gets the opportunity to practice their parts.   Sometimes this can take many minutes depending upon the ages of the dancers and their ability to focus on the task.
  • 4.  Please don't leave until the director officially says "Good job!  you can go now"

    Performance Instructions

  • Arrive at the theater at 3:45pm.
  •   Little dancers:   Put on your make-up (except lipstick) at home and wear your costume to the Theater.
  •   If you want to see the show after dancing, you must put on regular street clothes.    Performers do not wear costumes in the audience.
  • Dressing space is almost non-existant at our theater.   We can only have parent volunteers backstage during the performance.
  • Parents:   Bring your performer around the side of the theater to our artist area where they will stay with their dance group.
  • To enter the theater all must have a ticket and enter by way of the main entrance

    Make up, Hair and costumes

  • 1. Shoes:  be certain to have the required ballet slippers (pink) and have the strings taped to the inside of the shoe.
  • 2. Tights:   pink.    Consider bringing an extra pair just in case.    Dancers do not wear underpants under their tights.   It creates a very lumpy look and we don't want the undies showing.
  • 3. Do not add anything extra to your costume or hair unless it has been specified by your instructor.    Do NOT put on any face or body glitter.
  • 4. Remove all jewelry, including earring posts and remove nail polish before performing.
  • 5. Minimum make-up for young dancers:  Face powder, eyeliner (brown or brown/black), mascara (black), eyeshadow (brown), blush, lipstick (burgundy shade).

    Theater Etiquette

  • 1.  Once the show has begun there should be no running about.
  • 2.  Never throw anything onto the stage.   Flowers and gifts may be presented backstage before and after the shows.
  • 3. During the Dress Rehearsal you may take photos and video of the show.   But during the performances it is standard policy to request no flash photography or videos.   Please tell your relatives and friends to avoid misunderstandings.
  • 4. We have a professional video made of the performances but you may video during the dress rehearsal only.

Thank you!  I hope this information has been useful to you.   Please call if you have any further questions.
    Ms. Keefer, Director
